Tottenham fans react to Guglielmo Vicario announcement vs Crystal Palace – ‘This is a loss’

Guglielmo Vicario has been a hot topic among Tottenham fans over the last few days, with the Italian consistently in poor form.

There have been plenty of calls within the fanbase for Antonin Kinsky to be given a shot at staking a claim as Spurs’ number one due to that.

As Igor Tudor and Spurs gear up to take on Crystal Palace in a must-win game in the relegation battle on Thursday, there was hope that Vicario would be dropped.

However, when the team news was announced, and Vicario was named to start against the Eagles, supporters were quick to react to the decision.

What have Tottenham fans said about Vicario vs Crystal Palace?

It is safe to say that after Vicario’s wastefulness against Fulham with his distribution, many have been left unhappy with him between the sticks.

However, Tudor is not one of those people, as he has decided to continue to trust the Italian shot-stopper in goal for Tottenham.

This came much to the dismay of supporters online.

One fan stated on X: “Vicario? This is a loss.”

Others similarly followed suit, with that sentiment widespread among the Lilywhites faithful.

Of course, with Vicario starting, many fans pushed their support for Kinsky, questioning why he was not selected.

A supporter on X said: “How is Vicario still starting? What does Kinsky need to do???”

Pressure is now surely starting to build on Vicario, who has quite a lot to do to regain trust among fans this season, before a probable exit in the summer.

Antonin Kinsky will be keeping a close eye on his Tottenham chances now

With Vicario under the microscope with fans, the Italian must simply step up to the plate, as more errors and poor performances will only increase the dissatisfaction currently surrounding him.

Kinsky, of course, will be keeping a close eye on his fellow goalkeeper, as if the outside noise continues to build, it could pressure Tudor to make a change.

The Czech shot-stopper has played just twice for the N17 outfit this season, with both of those appearances coming in the Carabao Cup.

He must now be ready to step in if needed, as fans continue to call for his chance in the starting lineup.

As the battle for survival begins to heat up, Spurs will need at least one of their goalkeepers to be playing at their highest level.

So far, Vicario has not been that player for Tottenham this season.
