Tottenham fans will be fuming at Simon Jordan after what he just said about Cristian Romero

Cristian Romero has been at the centre of multiple Tottenham controversies in recent months.

The North London side are in the midst of a terrible season, currently sitting 14th in the Premier League.

Thomas Frank remains under huge sack pressure, and supporters have been calling for the Dane’s dismissal for some time now.

Spurs fans have also vented their frustrations at the club’s ownership after what was another underwhelming transfer window, with Romero also going public.

Simon Jordan slams Cristian Romero

Romero’s Tottenham future is now in real doubt after the Argentine defender released a statement criticising the situation at the North London club.

The centre-back said it was “disgraceful” that Frank’s side only had 11 senior players available for last Sunday’s draw with Manchester City, as a result of their current injury crisis.

It’s not the first time that he has spoken out against the Spurs hierarchy this season, either.

Romero criticised the higher-ups at Tottenham after the 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth back at the start of January, saying that some people only show up when things are going well.

Speaking on talkSPORT, former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan insisted that the Spurs captain was out of control and should not be allowed to publicly shame the club in that manner.

Jordan said: “This guy (Romero) is uncontrollable. I think he does what he wants.

“He thinks he’s bigger than Tottenham Hotspur. We’ve seen it previously a couple of times in the past.

“You’ve got something to say, you say it internally. You don’t use your social media to start imparting your particular brand of wisdom. I think he will leave the club (in the summer).”

Tottenham supporters are fully behind Cristian Romero

While Jordan is firmly against Romero’s public criticism towards the Tottenham hierarchy, Spurs fans see it as an act of strong leadership.

Across social media, supporters are praising the Argentinian international for speaking out against those who are at fault for the North London side’s demise.

Many Tottenham fans feel that Romero wants the absolute best for the club, and by making these statements, he is trying to spark some real change.

Unless Frank can turn around the situation on the pitch and push the Lilywhites up the Premier League table in the latter stages of the season, the Lewis family will continue to come under big pressure.
