Tottenham have player with ‘great heights’ there for taking after latest Richarlison update

Richarlison has been one of the shining lights in a relatively dark time for Tottenham this season.

Spurs are currently underachieving with Thomas Frank, as the head coach already faces pressure of the sack just months after joining in the summer.

The Lewis family are going to help Frank in the January transfer window, in a last-ditch attempt to let the Spurs boss prove that he is the worthy man to lead the Lilywhites.

The Lilywhites’ attack has been criticised this campaign, but Richarlison has still been popping up with important moments for Spurs.

However, as Sky Sport reported on Thursday, the Brazilian is now out for a lengthy period of time with a hamstring injury, which leaves Tottenham with one transfer target to replace him with.

Tottenham have done their homework on Samu Omorodion

Dominic Solanke is still out injured for Spurs, but is gaining fitness and could be available in the coming weeks.

Frank is entering a crucial period as Tottenham boss and needs results to turn things around, but it’s going to be hard for the Dane to do so with no Richarlison or a capable out-and-out number nine.

Tottenham have been credited with interest in Samu Omorodion, a striker who is tearing up Portugal with FC Porto once again this season.

The 21-year-old has scored 46 times in 71 games for the Portuguese outfit so far, and doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.

There have been suggestions that Omorodion could be available for around £65million, which Joe Lewis appears to have, considering the £150million transfer kitty he has for Frank.

Omorodion praise should green-light Tottenham transfer

Omorodion has been on fire in both the league as well as the Europa League for Porto this season, and in total, has scored 21 goals in 29 games.

The deadly forward is also a Spanish international, but he once represented Nigeria, as former Eagles defender Danny Shittu has previously been full of praise for Omorodion.

Shittu said, as quoted by Complete Sports in 2025: “I think Samu is extremely talented and has huge potential to reach great heights in a few years. He is powerful, fast, and a good finisher.”

It would be a hard deal to pull off for Spurs, but if they have any future ambition of being serious competitors, then Omorodion is the man to go for this window.
