Tottenham midfielder transfer hits the skids despite medical being completed
Callum Olusesi’s proposed move to Serie A side Torino appears to be in doubt.
Olusesi underwent a medical with Torino over the weekend, as the final formalities of the deal were being completed.
The 18-year-old hasn’t made a competitive first-team appearance for Tottenham this season, with his sole senior outing coming in the Europa League against Hoffenheim in January last year.
Olusesi signed a new contract with Spurs in April 2025, which now sees his current deal run until the 2029.

Callum Olusesi’s Torino move on hold
Evidently then, Olusesi is a player that is rated highly in N17, with the central midfielder seemingly having a bright future ahead of him.
So much so that in the last few days, it’s been reported that Hoffenheim and PSV have seen bids worth around £6million for Olusesi rejected, as Tottenham seeming appear unwilling to commit to a permanent sale.
However, they do seem to be open to letting the central midfielder leave on loan, and it’s widely reported that Olusesi’s proposed move to Torino does include an option for the Italian outfit to purchase him.
And, with a medical having been completed and the player in Turin ready to sign on as a Torino player, everything was pointing towards this loan switch being tied up well in advance of Monday’s 7pm deadline.
Now though, things have changed. As per a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, for reasons that are said to be unclear, the deal is now understood to be on hold.
It’s stated that the frameworks of the move were agreed upon by both parties, and so it’s currently not known why progress has been stopped at the final hurdle.

Deadline day clue could answer Olusesi hold up question
As is the case when it comes to deadline day, things can change very quickly.
Teams can hijack deals at the last second, with heads being turned despite having all but the contract left to sign with their proposed new club.
This could be the case with Olusesi and Torino too, as reports on Monday have emerged that he does have interest from across European football.
Clubs in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and in England are all understood to be keen on Olusesi, so it could be a case of a more attractive proposition turning up out of nowhere that’s got him changing his mind.
At this stage, however, that is purely speculation.
