Tottenham news round-up: Venkatesham speaks out on exit, Sebastien Kehl officially available

Tottenham Hotspur still have plenty going on behind the scenes, as well as on the pitch.

Roberto De Zerbi‘s side are locked in a relegation battle in the Premier League, sitting just one point above the drop zone.

They will be keeping a close eye on West Ham’s results in the next three matches, as well as trying to do their very best themselves to keep that gap or extend it.

However, attention will soon turn to the new campaign, with transfer targets and boardroom developments under the microscope much more than right now.

Tottenham News rounds up the latest from N17 on 8 May, as the season winds towards its conclusion.

Randal Kolo Muani transfer expectation shared

Randal Kolo Muani is still expected to leave Tottenham in the summer despite his recent upturn in form.

The Frenchman has formed a relationship with De Zerbi, and seems to be increasingly confident after the recent celebrations.

John Wenham believes that will not change anything, though, even if the price demands from Paris Saint-Germain were lower than expected.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: I still don’t think there’s any chance that he’ll be back at Tottenham next year.

“I even think at that rate [£25million] I probably wouldn’t buy him.

“It’s not his fault, I don’t mind him as a person, I just think we’ve got other issues in the squad than spending £25 million on him.

“If they said, look, you can have him on loan again at the same terms that you’ve got him now, then there could be a deal done there if he continues to play well between now and the end of the season.”

Jeff Stelling makes Tottenham vs Leeds prediction that Spurs fans will love

Jeff Stelling has made a prediction that will excite Tottenham supporters ahead of their clash with Leeds United.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 8 May, he said: “Leeds may well be safe by the time they kick off at Tottenham.

“They could be on the beach or they could be playing with complete freedom.

“I have watched Leeds with real admiration in the Premier League this season, but I sense Spurs have reinvigorated under De Zerbi, and I think they can take a huge step towards Premier League safety by beating Leeds.

“I am going Tottenham 2 and Leeds 1.”

That situation would be a dream for Spurs fans, and would boost their hopes of survival tremendously, if Stelling’s prediction comes true.

Vinai Venkatesham speaks out after Tottenham exit

Vinai Venkatesham has spoken out after Andy Rogers’ departure from the Lilywhites was confirmed.

He will step away from his role as managing director of the women’s team in North London, ending a 24-year association with Spurs.

Venkatesham has revealed his feelings on the matter, saying: “Andy has made a significant contribution to the growth and development of our women’s team over the past three-and-a-half years.

“His leadership, professionalism, and tireless commitment to the Club has helped shape strong foundations for our Women’s players and staff, both on and off the pitch.

“We are incredibly grateful for all on Andy’s work during his time here. He leaves with our very best wishes for the future and will always be part of the Spurs family.”

Tottenham target Kehl avaliable after Dortmund agreement

Tottenham are interested in sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who is officially available after his exit from Borussia Dortmund.

A report from BILD claims that the 46-year-old and the Bundesliga club have reached an agreement to terminate his contract, with a £1.3m severance fee.

It claims that Spurs, Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen are potential landing spots for the 31-cap German international.

It does not state his preference on staying in Germany or moving to the Premier League club.
