Thomas Frank has lost the support of the Tottenham fans and now the players have made up their minds about the Dane as well.

Tottenham drew 2-2 with Burnley on Saturday afternoon at Turf Moor as their poor form in the Premier League continued.

Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero scored for the North London outfit, either side of goals from Axel Tuanzebe and Lyle Foster.

Frank’s side are now just eight points clear of the relegation zone, sitting 14th in the table and without a win in their last five top-flight games.

Chris Sutton ‘doesn’t get’ anger towards Thomas Frank

Frank is under huge sack pressure and has been for some time now, with Spurs fans unhappy with performance levels and results.

Following a positive start to life in North London after his move from Brentford, the Dane has failed to kick on.

Tottenham have now won just two of their last 10 games across all competitions, and time is running out for Frank.

However, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, former Premier League winner Chris Sutton doesn’t understand the anger towards Frank from Spurs supporters.

Sutton said: “I don’t get the anger from Spurs fans towards Thomas Frank. I think that he needs time. He’s got Solanke back now, I know he missed a big chance at the weekend but I think they’ll be better off with him leading the line.”

Sutton also believes that the Tottenham players are still very much behind Frank and eager to turn the situation around.

He said: “I still think Spurs have quality players. The players still showed that they were playing for Thomas Frank towards the end (vs Burnley).”

Thomas Frank has last hope at Tottenham

Tottenham take on Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, in what is the final game of the group phase.

If the Lilywhites can secure all three points in Germany, then they will guarantee themselves a place in the last 16 of the competition without having to go through the play-offs.

After Tottenham beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 last Tuesday, they now sit fifth in the Champions League table, one point clear of ninth-placed Barcelona.

If Frank can lead his side to a top-eight finish, then he will have slightly more leeway regarding his future in North London.

However, if Spurs somehow relinquish their grasp on automatic qualification through to the last 16, then the calls for the Dane to be sacked will only get louder.
