Tottenham prepare £43m bid to sign Man City star who Pep Guardiola says is ‘extraordinary’
Tottenham remain in the market for attacking reinforcements.
Tottenham suffered a 2-1 defeat against West Ham on Saturday, piling more and more pressure on Thomas Frank.
Spurs have the fourth-worst home record in the top flight this season, with their lack of attacking threat a big reason behind those struggles.
As a result, Tottenham are still looking to make additions to their forward line, with a move for a Man City star now on the cards.
Pep Guardiola is a big fan of player Tottenham are linked with
With Richarlison out for seven weeks through injury, Tottenham may have to step up their efforts to sign a new striker in the last two weeks of the transfer window.
However, they would also like to add another wide player to compensate for the departure of Brennan Johnson, seemingly.
A report from Fichajes states that Spurs are preparing an offer in the region of £43million to sign Man City winger Oscar Bobb.
The arrival of Antoine Semenyo, who was linked with Tottenham, has pushed Bobb further down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola, with several clubs monitoring his situation.
It’s claimed that Spurs see this as the perfect opportunity to act on one of their transfer targets.
However, City are unlikely to budge on their valuation of the winger, with Guardiola having held Bobbin in high regard.
Back in November, he said: “He played the first few games, he played well defensively, the high pressing and his intuition is extraordinary, and the moment he frees his mind, I know he can do it.
“The last few games for Norway, he played really, really well, and I missed him last season a lot, and he’s going to help us.”
Thomas Frank latest could scupper Oscar Bobb deal
Bobb would be a great signing for Tottenham, but with Thomas Frank at risk of facing the sack, he’s highly unlikely to want to commit to a new transfer.
Any promises that are given to him now could easily be made redundant in a week’s time if Frank were to face the axe.
That goes with any transfer target, who will not want to join Tottenham while not knowing who they will be playing under.
It demonstrates the need for urgency in a managerial situation, with just two weeks remaining in the January transfer window.
