Tyrese Campbell: Stats show why Celtic have to sign Sheffield United star in summer transfer window
Tyrese Campbell has been on Celtic’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window, and the club should look to bring him in.
On the face of it, the Sheffield United star would be a poor signing. The 26-year-old has only netted five goals in the Championship this season, which is no doubt a disappointing return.
With Celtic’s attacking issues being the bane of their season, they cannot afford to take half-hearted measures to fix this.
However, with the Daily Record on 28 March confirming that the Hoops are still scouting Campbell, who has just over a year left on his contract, there is a chance for a deal to be done.
Below, Football Insider has examined why Campbell to Celtic is a no-brainer in the summer.

Tyrese Campbell has solid stats in the Championship
While Campbell might not be scoring regularly, there are plenty of signs that suggest he could be a bargain for Celtic.
His goalscoring ability is no doubt an issue, averaging just 0.29 a game. However, he is overachieving in terms of his xG, which stands at 0.27 per game.
Tyrese Campbell’s Championship stats this season Per 90 minutes Goals 0.29 xG 0.27 Big chances created 0.19 Successful dribbles 0.67 Aerial duels won 55.2% Touches in opposition box 5.34
On top of this, while he might not be hitting the back of the net, he is still a menace up top.
On average, he is creating 0.19 big chances, performing 0.67 successful dribbles, winning 55.2 per cent of his aerial duels and having 5.34 touches in the opposition box.
This is despite Campbell having a poor season compared to the last, having previously averaged 0.57 goals in the Championship every 90 minutes.

Therefore, if Celtic are able to rekindle this form next season in the Scottish Premiership, Campbell would prove to be a bargain and could be an excellent option off the bench.
On top of this, with the time on his deal running out, Sheffield United could be prepared to accept a price-cut offer.
Which other strikers are Celtic interested in?
Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Celtic are also interested in Kasper Hogh.
The 25-year-old Bodo/Glimt attacker has impressed so far this campaign and netted five times in the Champions League and picked up three assists.
Multiple clubs are chasing his signature, including Leeds United, but Celtic are believed to have a better chance of winning the race.
However, it remains to be seen if the Hoops are able to get the signing over the line, considering the interest in the forward.
