View: Alan Shearer hits nail on head about Everton 'attitude' that was seen in win vs Chelsea
Alan Shearer loved every bit of the commitment that Everton showed in their 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday, and rightly so.
The Toffees quite simply bullied the visitors, as they just so happened to be the not-so-lucky side who saw the best version of Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Blues fans rejoiced in each of the three goals which put Liam Rosenior’s side to the sword, but it was clear that David Moyes sent a message to his players before the game started.
It felt like there was only one team on the pitch who were after three points, and the dream of securing a spot in European football looks well and truly on.
Everton are eighth in the Premier League, and Shearer may have confidence that the Blues can indeed achieve their ultimate goal for the season.

Alan Shearer says ‘everything about Everton was so impressive’
Shearer and Wayne Rooney individually praised James Garner for his performance in the game, but it was truly a team effort that prevailed in the end.
Many worries that some Blues fans had coming into the game were squashed, and it feels like this could be the turning point in what could be a really successful campaign.
Possession 36% xG 1.18 Shots (on target) 10 (9) Big chances 2 Duels won 53% Dribble success 67%
The Toffees won the majority of the duels in the match, and while showing their steel, they showed their craft at the same time in the final third.
While speaking on Match of the Day, Shearer was quick to mention how he was impressed by Everton’s application to the game over anything else.
Shearer said: “Forget about systems, there was only one team that wanted to win that, and it was Everton from start to finish.
“The way their attitude, application, and organisation, everything about Everton was so impressive. They won every single 50/50 and second ball, and they just went after Chelsea.”

As seen in the image provided by Match of the Day above, the physical stats from the game backed up Shearer’s points about Everton’s desire for three points.
If Moyes’ side can show that just a few more times this season, then European football will surely be headed for Hill Dickinson next campaign.
What has Phil Jagielka said about Everton’s chance of European football?
The Toffees are tied on 46 points with Brentford and are only behind on goal difference. The gap to Chelsea is two, while Liverpool sits in fifth with just a three-point advantage.
Anything can happen from now until the end of the season, and former Everton defender Phil Jagielka believes that the race for Europe will chop and change going into the final seven games of the campaign.
While speaking on Sky Sports, Jagielka said: “I just imagine all these teams are going to change positions every week. Everton managed to win, and Brentford drew, so maybe they’ll start to leapfrog each other.”
The key for Everton is to focus on their own results and what will be, will be.
Next up for the Toffees is the international break before an all-important game against Brentford on Saturday, 11 April.
