View: Barry could fall victim to Everton trap as European chances grow
Thierno Barry may find himself cast aside at Everton next season.
For Everton to be in the European conversation ahead of the final six games of the season is a testament to the work done by David Moyes.
However, it also showcases just how much some players have improved as the season has gone on, and Beto is among them.
He’s been involved in five goals in his last five games for the Toffees, with no striker in the Premier League having scored more goals than him within that period.
With that said, Beto had been linked with an exit from Everton, and his recent return to form could have a knock-on effect for Barry.

Everton could fall into costly Beto trap
We’ve seen it before when a player has offered very little all season, but found a purple patch of form and went on to play a crucial role.
That is Beto at Everton as of right now, and it is certainly aiding their chances of qualifying for Europe.
Premier League Beto Starts 13 Goals 7 Shots 34 xG 7.74
However, this isn’t out of the ordinary for him, having done the same last season, and the Toffees simply can’t afford to fall into the trap of thinking he is the one to lead the line for them beyond this season.
But if they do, it will have only negative effects for Barry, who is likely to become the third choice at Everton, presuming that they sign a new striker in the summer.

What is the best course of action for Barry?
At his age, Barry needs to be playing regularly, and having shown a lack of quality at Everton so far this season, he’s unlikely to get that in the Premier League next campaign.
The Toffees may look to keep him around as depth, but the best option may be for him to depart on loan and rekindle the form that ultimately earned him a big-money move to Hill Dickinson.
It would, in some way, be an acceptance of an error for Everton, but it may need to happen for them to ever get the best out of him.
