View: 'Comedy' 27y/o will surely get Frank sacked at Tottenham, he lost possession 13 times v Burnley
Thomas Frank is once again on the verge of the sack after Tottenham put in another disappointing display on Saturday afternoon.
Tottenham managed to scrape a 2-2 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor, but only a late Cristian Romero header saved them from an embarrassing defeat.
Micky van de Ven had opened the scoring for the Lilywhites with a powerful left-footed finish before the North London side capitulated in Lancashire.
Goals from Axel Tuanzebe and Lyle Foster turned the game on its head, and despite Romero’s leveller, Frank remains in all kinds of trouble at Spurs.
Tottenham defenders slammed for ‘comedy central’ performance
While Van de Ven and Romero got on the scoresheet for Tottenham, the two centre-backs failed to cover themselves in glory at the other end of the pitch.
The pair have now found the net a remarkable 13 times between them in all competitions this season, but along with Kevin Danso in defence against Burnley, there was a complete lack of control.
Frank switched to a three-at-the-back formation for the trip to Turf Moor, as he has done on rare occasions since he arrived in North London, but the change did not have the desired effect.
Danso, Van de Ven and Romero were all over the place, and speaking on BBC Match of the Day, former Swansea and Everton defender Ashley Williams stated that it was like “comedy central” at the back.
Analysing Burnley’s second goal, Williams said: “Romero again, eager to go and win it, doesn’t win it.
“Van de Ven, who I actually personally think is a really good defender, terrible individual defending there. Danso as well, it’s like comedy central at the back.”
Kevin Danso will surely see Thomas Frank sacked
Danso has impressed for Tottenham at times this season, but he was badly exposed during the draw with Burnley.
The 27-year-old did not cover himself in glory for either of the two goals Spurs conceded, failing to track Tuanzebe in the first half and then finding himself isolated as Scott Parker’s side took the lead.
In the 78 minutes that Danso played at Turf Moor, he didn’t win a single tackle, as well as losing possession 13 times.

Van de Ven and Romero must shoulder some of the blame too though, as the North London side allowed relegation-bound Burnley to have nine shots in total, as well as creating three chances in the game.
If Frank fails to address the defensive woes at Tottenham, then he will surely be sacked in the coming weeks, as the situation goes from bad to worse.
