View: Everton 'beast' may rage as Moyes has possible scapegoat for summer window
Everton could potentially look to sign a new striker as David Moyes doesn’t seem convinced by Thierno Barry and Beto.
Patrick Boyland of The Athletic revealed on 10 April that he believes the Toffees will reinforce the number nine position in the upcoming transfer window.
It’s been claimed that had the Blues signed a new centre-forward, they would have surely looked to cash in on the Guinea-Bissau international in the winter transfer window.
Chelsea’s Liam Delap has been tipped as a possible target for the Merseyside outfit in the summer, with Barry and Beto deemed similar profiles to each other.
Moyes should ask The Friedkin Group for significant backing at the end of the season, regardless of whether he manages to qualify for Europe, but the side in L3 may make a few sacrifices to bolster their attack.

David Moyes to sacrifice Beto at Everton
Between Barry and Beto, the former Udinese striker is the one who will surely be allowed to leave if the Toffees end up having to sell a number nine.
While neither of the two centre-forwards have been consistent enough for the Blues this season, the ex-Villarreal ace has age and potential on his side.

The Merseysiders spent big money on the 23-year-old Frenchman and it wouldn’t make sense for them to sell him after just one year.
In recent weeks, the Guinea-Bissau attacker has cemented his place with some impressive performances, and while the 28-year-old has continued to work hard, he may be left raging at the Scottish manager’s decision to make him the scapegoat to fix the goalscoring issues at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Speaking to the media earlier this season, Moyes said, “I think that everybody has been desperate for Beto to do well and he continues to work, work like a beast every day to try and improve himself, to try and make himself better.”
David Moyes should shift focus to experienced striker transfer
Alexander Sorloth has been linked with Everton ahead of the summer, with the Atletico Madrid striker an obvious upgrade on Moyes’ current number nine options.
The 30-year-old Norway international scored in the 2-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals first leg, taking his goal tally to six in the competition this season.
With the Toffees in touching distance of European football, having someone of Sorloth’s experience could undoubtedly be pivotal for them to be competitive in the 2026-27 campaign.
Delap has failed at Chelsea and the Merseyside outfit should shift their focus to a more reliable option.
