View: Everton can't afford to waste time with Sheff' United star again as Chris Wilder speaks on future
Everton cannot afford to waste time chasing Femi Seriki, as his manager, Chris Wilder, seems to see the right-back as part of Sheffield United’s plans moving forward.
The Toffees were linked with Seriki in the January transfer window, and further interest has not been denied up until this point.
Right-back is a clear priority for David Moyes and the Friedkin Group this summer, with Jake O’Brien being pushed to his limits in an unnatural position.
The Blues have been linked with a few players that could come in, with the likes of Emil Holm and Juanlu Sanchez still on the cards.
However, Seriki always seemed like a realistic target for Everton to sign, but Wilder may have other ideas.

Chris Wilder wants to keep Femi Seriki amid Everton awareness
Everton were aware that Seriki could have been sold in the winter window, but Sheffield United would have only crumbled to a big offer.
However, the other side of it for the Blades is that Wilder does not like to let players go for free, and Seriki’s contract at Bramall Lane expires in just over 12 months.

The 24-year-old seems ready for the step up to the Premier League, but Wilder seems to be aiming to get back to the promised land with the Englishman.
The Sheffield United boss said, as relayed by The Bladesman on X this Sunday: “Jairo [Riedewald], Joe [Rothwell], Pat [Bamford] with a preseason under their belts, Femi [Seriki], Harrison [Burrows], [Michael] Cooper, Sydie [Peck], [Andre] Brooksy, Ryan One using their experience they’ve had this year.
Nathan Patterson will likely leave the club this summer, as La Liga side Sevilla have been credited with interest.
Everton will need a new right-back, but Seriki may not be their man after all, given Wilder seems confident of keeping him.
Everton should walk away and leave this one for now, or they’ll be wasting their time.
How Everton have gotten this far with Jake O’Brien is a mystery
O’Brien has almost been thrown under the bus a little at Everton.
He joined the club thinking that he would be competing for a starting spot at centre-back, and though he’s played, games haven’t come in his natural position.
He probably gets more stick than he deserves because of this, as it’s not his fault that Everton are in the predicament they are in.
Still, he has had good games in the Premier League, and the Blues have an outside chance of European qualification
But over anything, right-back has to be the number one focus.
