View: Everton fans to feel furious as PL rivals submit £27m bid for player Moyes needs
Everton are running out of time to sign a new striker.
Thierno Barry’s inconsistent performances and Beto’s woeful finishing from close range have left the Toffees with the need to buy a new number nine.
Everton were in pole position to sign Youssef En-Nesyri, although it now looks as if he favours a move to Italian giants Juventus.
Beto looked set to leave Everton before the transfer window deadline on 2 February, but his asking price of £17.3million has turned Fenerbahce away from the deal.
The Toffees will want to add a forward to their ranks imminently as they look set to miss out on a long-term transfer target.

Fulham launch £27million bid for Everton target Ricardo Pepi
Everton’s strikers have scored a combined total of six goals in the Premier League this season, and it’s no wonder they want Barry to have competition up front.
According to TEAMtalk on 31 December, Everton were one of the clubs showing interest in PSV striker Ricardo Pepi this winter.
Unfortunately for them, their inactivity towards pursuing him could now come back to bite them.
Stat Pepi Appearances 22 Goals 11 Assists 2 Expected goals 6.10
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Fulham have submitted a £27.2million bid for the USA international, and the Toffees may pass up on another clinical number nine.
Pepi’s overperformance in front of goal is incredibly impressive, and it begs the question as to why the Toffees didn’t bid for him when they were interested.
Moyes desperately needs someone to challenge Barry’s spot in the team, as that could motivate the Frenchman to perform even better.
Although the 23-year-old’s move to Fulham hasn’t been confirmed yet, Everton will need to look at other transfer targets.
Which other strikers have been linked with a move to Everton?
Romelu Lukaku has been tipped to return to Everton after Napoli announced the signing of Giovane Nascimento from Hellas Verona for £19m.
This means that the former Everton man has dropped further down the pecking order, and although a return to L4 would be incredible, there are huge question marks as to whether he’s fit enough to play in the Premier League at this stage of his career.
Wilson Isidor is another player who could move to Everton, although Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris is not keen on letting him leave in January.

One reason the Toffees perhaps didn’t go in for Pepi could be because of the transfer fee, and that’s completely understandable.
However, it feels as though he was there for the taking, and the supporters will be frustrated that a solution to their goalscoring woes still hasn’t been found.
More importantly, they’ll be even more annoyed that there are no concrete replacements lined up.
