View: Everton player may well pack bags at Hill Dickinson after report today
Dwight McNeil doesn’t seem to have a future at Everton if Jack Grealish stays at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Manchester City loanee’s arrival has seen the former Burnley forward’s minutes diminish under David Moyes in the current campaign.
As per a report on 2 April, there’s growing confidence among the Hill Dickinson hierarchy that Grealish will return for the 2026-27 campaign, with talks ongoing over another loan switch or permanent transfer.
The Scottish manager has brought the best out of the 30-year-old in L4 and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him continue his adventure with the Blues.
McNeil’s future under Moyes is probably sealed if the Merseysiders pull off another deal for the England international and the 26-year-old may well pack his bags already.

Dwight McNeil grabs shot at Everton redemption, but that may not be enough
McNeil’s highly publicised failed winter transfer to Crystal Palace clearly affected him, but the Toffees faithful have embraced him since then.
The English winger has been handed a few opportunities in recent weeks and has done well, even receiving a standing ovation at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Statistics Dwight McNeil Appearances 18 Starts 11 Minutes per game 53 Goals 0 Assists 1 Big chances missed 1 Big chances created 1 Successful dribbles per game 0.4 (54%) Average Sofascore rating 6.66
It looks like the forward has grabbed the chance Moyes has given him, effectively cementing his place in the starting lineup for the final seven Premier League matches of the season.
Despite McNeil’s resurgence, it looks like an emotional farewell could possibly be on the cards at the end of the season.
The ex-Burnley ace didn’t start in any of the opening 16 league games in the current campaign when both Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye were available, highlighting his status in the pecking order.
Dwight McNeil to open pathway for player development under David Moyes
Tyler Dibling has been a bit-part player at Everton since completing a big-money move from Southampton last summer.

The young winger has struggled for opportunities at Hill Dickinson Stadium, but that may change in the upcoming campaign with a more balanced squad.
With the 20-year-old clearly not trusted by Moyes yet, McNeil’s exit may expedite his development at the Blues.
Moyes could have the Toffees playing European football next season and it remains to be seen what the future holds in L4.
