View: Everton star may have secured lifeline under Moyes with lasting impression vs Brentford

Tyrique George was the impact substitute David Moyes was looking for as Everton faced Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.

The 20-year-old replaced Dwight McNeil in the 74th minute at the Gtech Community Stadium on 11 April, bringing much-needed energy on the wings.

With the England Under-21 international running at the opposition defence and creating some threatening situations, the Blues were able to secure a point in West London.

It was a dramatic end to the game between the Merseysiders and the Bees as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall found the back of the net in the 91st minute as the game ended 2-2.

David Moyes took a point off Keith Andrews’ team, with both looking to climb further up the table in the race for a European finish and the Scottish manager may have taken plenty of lessons from the game.

Tyrique George gives David Moyes reason to secure transfer at Everton

McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye had a quiet evening by their standards against Brentford and George’s arrival brought freshness to the attack.

The Chelsea loanee’s directness against a tired Michael Kayode created opportunities for the Toffees to capitalise on.

In the forward’s 16 minutes on the pitch, he recorded 12 touches, one shot on target, seven carries attempted, two crosses, with one being accurate and completed five of his six passes, as per Sofascore.

It looks like George may have secured a lifeline after arguably making a lasting impression on Moyes at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Tyler Dibling’s future at Everton seems uncertain after failing to get into Moyes’ plans this season.

The former Southampton youngster hasn’t lived up to expectations at Hill Dickinson Stadium after a big-money move last summer.

Dibling should take a leaf out of George’s book to possibly ensure that he doesn’t end up having to leave the Toffees at the end of the season.

The Merseysiders have an option to buy the Chelsea loanee for the 2026-27 campaign and he may be able to prove he’s worth a gamble.
