View: Everton star's testimonial of Moyes can surely be used to convince new signings

Everton midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has heaped praise on David Moyes.

The former Chelsea ace has credited the Scottish manager for his improved fortunes in the 2025-26 season after completing a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium for around £28million last summer.

Under the 62-year-old head coach, the 27-year-old has been given more freedom to express himself, leading to six goals and three assists in the Premier League.

Moyes has improved Dewsbury-Hall and the Scottish manager can surely use that as an example to convince other players to join him in L4 in the summer.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall season by numbers at Everton

Dewsbury-Hall has been one of the first names on the teamsheet for the Toffees when he’s fit, starting 22 games in the Premier League this season.

As per Sofascore, the midfielder has a goal conversion rate of 21 per cent, and has created eight big chances.

The former Chelsea ace has a passing accuracy of 84 per cent and a dribbling success rate of 55 per cent, completing 0.8 per game.

Defensively, the Englishman has recorded 0.4 interceptions, 1.6 tackles, recovered the ball four times and completed one clearance per game in the top flight for the Blues.

Dewsbury-Hall’s all-round performance is highlighted by winning an average of 4.6 duels per game, 53 per cent of the total.

Speaking to Opta Analyst on 17 March, the midfielder said, “He has given me a lot of freedom to play on the pitch. I don’t really feel like I’m restricted to one thing. I can drop deep and collect the ball and drive from deep, but I can also be in and around the box, trying to get into the box to score and create chances.

“I just feel like he’s given me that confidence and belief to trust in my abilities. It’s helping my all-round game in terms of attack and defence. I want to be that all-round midfielder, and I think the way that we play contributes to that.”

David Moyes already knows two transfer priorities at Hill Dickinson Stadium

A new right-back and left-back should be high up on the Toffees’ agenda in the upcoming transfer window.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s Everton contract expires at the end of the season, with Seamus Coleman in the same boat.

Moyes doesn’t seem to trust Adam Aznou, while Jake O’Brien has consistently played out of his natural position for the Merseyside outfit.

Nathan Patterson could potentially also be on his way out of the Blues in the summer, making the addition of at least two quality full-backs an evident priority for the Scottish manager.
