View: Grealish surely seething after Everton miss out on 'unbelievable' signing
To truly lay down a marker on their European ambitions, David Moyes must fix Everton’s goalscoring troubles.
Thierno Barry and Beto can never be knocked for their efforts, but neither can fix Everton’s lack of clinical edge in front of goal after scoring five Premier League goals between them in 2025/26.
Moyes is prowling the market for a new striker, and Everton have seen a loan offer accepted for Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce, although the Moroccan international is yet to decide whether he wants a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton are also negotiating a £17.3million option to sign En-Nesyri at the end of the campaign if the 28-year-old chooses to join, and he isn’t the only centre-forward linked with a Premier League switch.
Aston Villa are optimistic on signing Tammy Abraham following talks on the player side. Villa prepared to offer the 28-year-old a long-term contract.

Everton set to miss out on Tammy Abraham to Aston Villa
Tammy Abraham emerged as an option for Everton this month, but the Besiktas loanee prefers a return to Aston Villa instead.
Abraham spent the 2018/19 campaign on loan at Villa Park from Chelsea, and the Englishman plundered 25 goals in 37 Championship appearances as Villa won promotion back to the Premier League.
Since then, the 28-year-old has done a tour of Europe, including a spell in the first team at Chelsea, before joining Roma, AC Milan, and now Besiktas on loan.

Known for his incredible aerial ability, excellent hold-up play and elite-level finishing, Abraham would have been an excellent signing for Everton.
Moyes prefers someone tall and physical to lead the line, and the Englishman has outscored both Beto and Barry this term, albeit in Turkey.
Jack Grealish rated Abraham highly at Aston Villa
Truthfully, the Roma striker is probably motivated by the prospect of playing Europa League football at Aston Villa, even if it means being second fiddle to Ollie Watkins.
But that doesn’t make the prospect of losing out on him any easier, and Jack Grealish will be sad that an agreement wasn’t reached.
Jack Grealish Stats Tammy Abraham 31 Appearances 37 6 Goals 25 6 Assists 3
In their Championship promotion-winning campaign, Grealish and Abraham struck a strong on-field partnership, as well as a friendship off the pitch.
The duo were often unstoppable on Villa’s journey to the play-off final, and the Manchester City loanee once hailed his former teammate as “unbelievable”.
“Unbelievable. Couldn’t believe how good he was with the ball for how tall he is. Loved playing with him,” Grealish said of Abraham in 2020.
Everton could have been onto a winner with Grealish sending teasing crosses into Abraham’s path, but that won’t be happening.
