View: Liverpool look increasingly likely to hand Everton multi-million cash boost this summer
Liverpool could land Everton a multi-million-pound payday if they sign Anthony Gordon this summer.
The England international certainly doesn’t have the best reputation at Hill Dickinson Stadium after his move to Newcastle United.
Despite making a £45million move in January 2023, he still faces hostility whenever he returns to face the Toffees on Merseyside.
That culminated in a massively celebrated penalty miss at Goodison Park as his struggles against his old side continued.
Gordon could now be on the move to Liverpool, and as controversial as that would be, it would bring in a welcome financial boost for Everton.

Liverpool could sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United
It has been an up-and-down season for the winger, but it has still been his best in front of goal at this stage of his career.
With 22 goal involvements across all competitions, he has been one of the best players in a difficult campaign for Eddie Howe.
Competition Appearances Goals Assists Premier League 26 6 2 Champions League 12 10 2 FA Cup 3 1 1 Carabao Cup 5 0 0
That is always going to prompt transfer interest, especially with so many sides being in desperate need of new wide options right now.
The 25-year-old has emerged as a target for several Premier League sides, with Anfield a potential destination.
The Telegraph reported on Thursday that Liverpool could turn their attention to Gordon after Hugo Ekitike suffered a suspected Achilles injury.
That could rule the France international out for around nine months and leave the Reds in need of a versatile attacker, like the Newcastle man.
As a boyhood Liverpool fan, the forward would reportedly jump at the chance to join the Anfield outfit if the opportunity came.
A move to the red side of Merseyside for Gordon could land Everton a payday in the perfect boost for David Moyes and Co.
Everton hold sell-on clause for Gordon
It is unclear how much Newcastle could demand for their star man when the summer window opens.
There have been reports suggesting the Magpies may set a price tag in the region of £87m, which is a wild figure.
A sale at that figure would land Howe’s side a profit of around £42m, but part of that would be on its way to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Sky Sports confirmed previously that Everton inserted a sell-on clause into the deal that saw Gordon move to St James’ Park in 2023.
Even if that comes in at 10 or 15 per cent, the Toffees could seal a windfall of between £4.2m and £6.3m, which would be a welcome boost.
Liverpool could land a new signing while also helping their nearest rivals in the process.
