View: Moyes sends strong message on Everton star as bid rejected with loan planned
Everton’s transfer business is picking up with the January window drawing to a close.
David Moyes still wants additions this window, but the Friedkin Group are yet to hand the 62-year-old any incomings.
The Toffees are in a good spot in the Premier League, and there’s a good chance that Moyes can guide his side to a European spot this season.
But the Everton boss knows he may lose a few players too in the coming days. However, Moyes is dead set on keeping Tim Iroegbunam for two reasons.

Everton reject Tim Iroegbunam bid amid Harrison Armstrong decision
Everton knocked back Lazio’s approach for Iroegbunam, which was valued at around £10million.
The Italian side were said to be tracking the Englishman for a while before sending the official bid, but it’s clear that the Toffees want their midfielder to remain on Merseyside.
However, Iroegbunam’s importance for the Toffees has once again been highlighted in the latest decision on Harrison Armstrong.
- Everton recalled Armstrong from his loan move with Preston North End at the start of January
- He played 17 times in the Championship side, impressing his manager Paul Heckingbottom
- Preston are keen on loaning Armstrong out once again
Moyes has confirmed that he wishes to loan Armstrong out again in the final few days of the transfer window, admitting that Preston North End would be a good place for him to stay for the season.
If the teenager was to leave the Toffees once again this window, then it would leave Moyes another man short in the middle of the park.
Which means Iroegbunam staying put remains crucial.

Everton to surely land a right-back ahead of deadline
Everton’s main priority has been to sign a new right-back with countless names mentioned over the last couple of weeks.
As highlighted by Sofascore, Jake O’Brien is having to do a job on the right side of Moyes’ defence due to injuries to Nathan Patterson and Seamus Coleman.
Although Patterson is now back for the Toffees, it remains to be seen if his long-term issue can prevent the Scot from getting back to his best.

Everton have been linked with Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey, along with Bologna’s Emil Holm, with the pair both players that the Friedkin Group may look to sign in the coming days.
It would be a disaster if Everton didn’t sign a single player this window, but at the very least, they need to keep Iroegbunam around with the way things are panning out.
