View: Rangers fans to love what Glenn Hoddle says about Moore callback in Tottenham vs Villa
Rangers pulled off an inspiring deal to sign Mikey Moore on loan from Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
Moore has become a key player at Ibrox, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 16 William Hill Premiership matches.
The 18-year-old had a slow start to life at the Gers, but he’s slowly starting to showcase his potential in Scotland.
Fans in Govan may fear that Tottenham could call Moore back from his loan, but it doesn’t look likely.
Tottenham don’t have callback option in Mikey Moore deal with Rangers
Glenn Hoddle has claimed that Tottenham don’t have the option to call Moore back from his loan at the Gers.
The Spurs icon believes the Englishman, who’s immensely talented, could get into the North London outfit’s team right now, but his return from Ibrox isn’t on the cards.
Thomas Frank suffered defeat in the FA Cup third round on 10 January as Aston Villa won 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the Danish manager could undoubtedly do with someone like the young winger at his disposal.
Speaking on TNT Sports 2 during commentary, Hoddle said, “Moore has gone out on loan to Rangers. For me, he’s got immense talent. And he would be in the team at the moment. But obviously, no callback in that deal.”
Moore is arguably one of Rohl’s most important players, and the Light Blues are evidently a better team with him.
While the German manager is expected to part ways with a host of players in January, the English forward certainly won’t be one of them.
Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell part of six January exits at Ibrox
Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell have been transfer-listed at Ibrox along with four other players.
Clinton Nsiala, who’s been brought back from the cold at Rangers by Rohl in recent weeks, could also leave after struggling for game time in Govan.
Player Contract until Rabbi Matondo 31 May 2026 Kieran Dowell 31 May 2026 Clinton Nsiala 30 June 2028 Nedim Bajrami 31 May 2028 Danilo 31 May 2028
Surprisingly, Danilo and Nedim Bajrami, who have played a part in the German manager’s plans, are also on the chopping block at the Glaswegian outfit.
Lyall Cameron’s exit on loan is also possible, with the Light Blues expected to have a busy winter transfer window.
