View: Rohl sack claims to surely intensify as BBC pundit left 'amazed' in Rangers loss vs Celtic
Danny Rohl was under pressure from a small section of Rangers fans ahead of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup loss to Celtic on Sunday.
The Gers lost to the Hoops on penalties in the quarter-final on 8 March, with Martin O’Neill’s team going through to the next round despite not being at their vintage best.
Over the course of the 120 minutes, the Light Blues had several opportunities to score but failed to take them, and they were eventually punished after James Tavernier and Djeidi Gassama missed their penalties.
Rohl has lost his second game against O’Neill, with the previous coming in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final in November, leaving the German manager in a bit of a tight spot going into the rest of the campaign.

Mikey Moore substitution in Rangers loss vs Celtic baffles
Rohl brought on Tochi Chukwunia for Mohamed Diomande at half-time and most Gers fans wouldn’t have had an issue with that.
The Cote d’Ivoire international wasn’t at his best in the opening 45 minutes and was booked early on, making his substitution at the break sensible.
However, Moore was arguably the best player at Ibrox in the second half, yet Nedim Bajrami replaced the 18-year-old in the 76th minute at a time when he looked lively in the final third.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Andy Halliday said, “I’m amazed at that. I thought Araujo did a really good job on Moore in the first half, but for me, he’s been the brightest of the Rangers attackers in the second half. Now that’s two occasions in the last five minutes alone he’s gone on the outside of Araujo, broken into the box, picked somebody out. I’m surprised he’s the one who’s been sacrificed.”
Some fans were calling for Rohl’s sacking before the Govan side failed to keep their hopes of winning the Scottish Cup alive.
At a time when the Light Blue were on top, why would Rohl think taking the Tottenham loanee off was the right decision? It will surely now only lead to scrutiny of his future intensifying for the remainder of the campaign.
Danny Rohl favourite quickly becoming villain at Ibrox
Djeidi Gassama was a key player for Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday last season, and the winger seemed to be his favourite when he was appointed at Rangers.
The French forward has struggled for form in recent weeks, and his penalty miss won’t leave supporters in G51 happy.
After a promising start at Ibrox, Gassama is arguably quickly becoming a villain due to his consistently poor displays.
The 22-year-old came off the bench against Celtic, but instead of bringing some quality to the Light Blues’ attacks, the winger’s sloppiness was ultimately detrimental.
