View: TFG must have one key promise for David Moyes in rumoured Everton contract talks

The Friedkin Group may have an extra incentive for David Moyes to sign his new Everton contract in the form of a promise for exciting summer transfers.

The Toffees could be handing their head coach a new deal this summer, with reports suggesting the board is sold on the long-term vision of the club with him.

Moyes would most likely see another few years added onto his deal as well as some extra pennies, but that might not be all to encourage him to sign on the dotted line.

The Everton boss has been previously left frustrated by getting sacked by West Ham, despite leading them to glory, but most Premier League teams would now snap up the opportunity to have him at their club.

Moyes wanted transfers in the winter window, but overall, the business wasn’t very encouraging, though that may change this summer.

Why TFG may offer David Moyes transfer guarantee in one particular area

Everton’s winter business was underwhelming, which has probably left the Friedkin Group with even more reason to believe Moyes is the man to trust.

The Toffees were trying to sign players to upgrade various positions, but only ended up with Tyrique George at the end of the window.

But one of the departments that the Toffees were trying to improve was the striker position. At the time, Thierno Barry and Beto were showing little signs of form, and have now found their touch in front of goal in recent weeks.

However, it’s almost certain that Moyes will want a new number nine this summer if handed a fresh deal.

Especially when considering that European football could truly be on the cards.

But will TFG spend money this summer?

The Friedkin Group did all their spending in the summer window, and to no great avail.

Tyler Dibling joined the club along with Barry as the two most expensive additions, but the best of the newcomers has easily been Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Merlin Rohl will become an Everton player permanently at the end of the season for a multi-million-pound deal, which will take TFG’s current spending in Merseyside past £120million.

Everything is pointing towards Dan Friedkin dipping deep into his pockets this summer, and certain moves may depend on where the Blues finish this campaign.

Regardless, the Toffees need a new frontman for Moyes.
