Thomas Frank is once again nearing the sack at Tottenham after yet another abysmal performance.

Tottenham beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 last Tuesday, moving themselves up to fifth in the Champions League group phase, lifting some of the pressure on Frank.

However, the respite was quickly over for the Dane as Spurs could only manage a 2-2 draw with 19th-place Burnley on Saturday.

Micky Van de Ven fired Tottenham into the lead at Turf Moor, but Axel Tuanzebe and Lyle Foster turned the game on its head, with Cristian Romero’s late leveller doing little to improve the mood in the away end.

Glenn Murray leaves Tottenham fans scratching their heads

Frank is just unable to get his side firing at the moment, evidenced by the fact that their goals came from two centre-backs.

Romero and Van de Ven sit second and third on Spurs’ top goalscorer list this season, with the attackers failing to shoulder their share of the load.

Tottenham also had problems defensively against Burnley, though, with Kevin Danso having a tough afternoon on the right of a back three.

However, former Premier League striker Glenn Murray doesn’t believe that Frank’s job should be under threat, despite recent results.

Speaking on BBC Final Score, Murray said: “I just think there’s been so much change, and when you’re leaving Brentford and going into a completely different culture at Spurs, that takes time.

“So for me, Thomas Frank should stay as the manager; I don’t think his job should be in jeopardy at all.”

Thomas Frank must be sacked by Tottenham

Spurs fans will be baffled by Murray’s claims that Frank shouldn’t be under any sort of pressure, given the level of performances they are forced to endure every week.

It’s clear that the situation isn’t improving, and if changes aren’t made quickly, then the North London side could begin to slide towards the bottom three.

The numbers surrounding Tottenham’s recent form are alarming, given they have managed just two wins from their last 14 Premier League games.

Tottenham stats

In that time, since their 3-0 win over Everton at the end of October, only Burnley (5) and Wolves (6) have picked up fewer points than Frank’s side (11).

It has been a woeful three months for Spurs, who are genuinely in relegation form, and a change in manager is now surely the only option.
