View: Tottenham loanee goes from strength to strength as he speaks out about future
Luka Vuskovic is remaining tight-lipped on his Tottenham Hotspur future as he continues to impress on loan at Hamburg.
Tottenham agreed to sign Vuskovic from Hadjuk Split in 2023 when he was just 16 for around £12million, before he joined the Premier League side last summer on a deal until 2030.
The 6ft 4in defender was sent out on loan to Hamburg for the 2025-26 campaign and so far, the 19-year-old has impressed at the Bundesliga side.
Tottenham have high hopes for the centre-back but they are likely to struggle to keep hold of him if they are relegated to the Championship, with Igor Tudor’s side just one point above the bottom three.
On Thursday, Vuskovic was asked about his Tottenham future, and his response may worry Spurs fans; many of whom are despairing after a 5-2 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and a calamitous league campaign.

Tottenham must keep hold of Barcelona-linked Luka Vuskovic
This season, the youngster has made 22 Bundesliga appearances, scoring five goals and adding an assist – making him a popular figure at Volksparkstadion.
According to Sofascore, he has a pass accuracy of 83 per cent, has kept five clean sheets, and he is effective in one-on-one situations, with the stats showing he is at 0.2 for dribbles past per game.
In the Bundesliga, he is in the top one per cent for aerial duels won and shots attempted, and he is in the top two per cent for goals scored.
Moreover, he is in the top 15 per cent for defensive contributions and chances created. That, and more, has led to links with Barcelona. It’s also another reason why Tottenham rate him so highly.

However, it seems he is well aware of Tottenham’s current predicament, with the north London team languishing in 16th in the Premier League.
Indeed, when asked if he would play for Tottenham if they got relegated to the Championship, he told Bild on Thursday: “I can’t and won’t say anything about that or about the future in general. I’m their player and have a contract until 2030.”
And on Monday, his agent, Pini Zahavi, gave little away when asked about Barcelona’s reported interest in the teenager.
“I can’t comment at this time. The player still belongs to Hamburg and is completely focused there. I can provide updates in exactly two months,” he said.
Tottenham get crumb of comfort over Vuskovic
Vuskovic has already won five Man of the Match awards this season for Hamburg, with the German team currently sitting 10th in the Bundesliga.
His form has led to links with Premier League sides, along with clubs in Germany and Spain. While Vuskovic may have big ambitions, the Croatian is grateful for Tottenham’s support.
When asked how he keeps his feet on the ground, he added: “I try not to think about it too much and don’t read much on social media. I also have a psychologist assigned to me by Tottenham.
“She helps me a lot. It used to be in person, of course, but now it’s by phone. She gives me good advice on how to deal with certain things. For example, how to react to unexpected events.”

Despite that, Vuskovic may be one of many to seek a Tottenham exit if the club gets relegated from the Premier League this season.
He is a rising star of the game and will have plenty of suitors in the summer. Spurs must do all they can to keep hold of him but relegation will leave them short of options.
They will demand a sizeable fee, though, if he is sold.
