Tottenham Hotspur may be resting solely on Richarlison to salvage themselves any sort of result against Liverpool on Sunday.

Spurs enter the contest at Anfield seeking their first Premier League win of 2026, with Igor Tudor so far overseeing four losses in a row in all competitions.

The most recent of those was a 5-2 loss away at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, all but ending the Lilywhites’ European aspirations.

Tottenham now face an equally-as-tough test against Liverpool, but a Richarlison stat reveal suggests Spurs may just have a chance of getting something on Merseyside.

Richarlison’s impressive record vs Liverpool

Richarlison is expected to start for Spurs against Liverpool, potentially with Dominic Solanke alongside him and Xavi Simons and Conor Gallagher for support.

The Brazil international is one of perhaps only a couple of Spurs players – Archie Gray being the other – able to hold his head high after recent results.

Richarlison assisted Pedro Porro’s goal in the loss to Atletico Madrid and was also on the scoresheet in the loss to Fulham.

The 28-year-old’s 11 goals and assists combined in the Premier League this season is four more than any other Spurs player has managed, with Mohammed Kudus (seven) next on the list.

Rather embarrassingly for Spurs’ other attackers, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero (five each) or next on that list.

And Richarlison particularly likes playing against next opponents Liverpool. Indeed, he has been involved in more goals against the Reds than any other Premier League side.

Richarlison has five goals and three assists in eight encounters against Liverpool, including five in five games as a Spurs player (three goals and two assists).

While Richarlison may rank bottom of the pile for pass accuracy among Spurs players with 63 per cent, he certainly provides an element of unpredictability in the final third.

The Premier League milestone Richarlison could hit at Anfield

Richarlison’s goal against Fulham was his 72nd in the Premier League, alongside his 27 assists in the competition.

That means he is one shy of 100 direct goal involvements in the English top flight, which Spurs fans will desperately hope he hits at Anfield.

Tudor is having to deal with a whole host of injury and suspension issues right now – what’s new at Spurs? – but there is still quality in this side.

As a former Everton player, Richarlison would love nothing more than to make an impact on the other side of Stanley Park on Sunday.

Spurs fans will have their fingers crossed he does just that and helps spark a performance the Lilywhites are crying out for right now.
