View: Tottenham's PL survival may actually depend on 84% star at rival club
Tottenham Hotspur‘s chances of staying in the Premier League could come down to West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville.
Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi scored the goals as Nottingham Forest beat Spurs 3-0 to leapfrog the Lilywhites in the table on Sunday.
Although the fans assembled before the game to create a raucous atmosphere for the players, they were badly let down in what was an abject performance.
Igor Tudor’s side are now one point clear of 18th-placed West Ham, who have done remarkably well to put themselves in with a fighting chance of staying in the Premier League.
And Tottenham’s loss to Nottingham Forest means that they’ll depend on West Ham’s results, and particularly if Summerville returns to full fitness.

Crysencio Summerville’s injury has hugely benefited Tottenham
Having signed for a fee of £25million plus add-ons from Leeds United in August 2024, the Dutchman initially made a slow start to life in E20.
However, Summerville has been electric this season, and the 24-year-old was also nominated for January’s Premier League Player of the Month award.
Unfortunately for West Ham, the Dutch winger sustained a calf injury, which left him unavailable for their draw against Man City and their loss at Aston Villa.

According to Sofascore, he has registered 91 touches in the opposition box and a pass accuracy of 84 per cent in the Premier League this season.
With 1.59 successful dribbles per 90 minutes in the top flight, the Dutch winger is always a threat, and he does not shy away from taking the responsibility to score and create important goals.
If he were fit for their last two matches, the Hammers could have picked up more points, which would have left Tottenham in the relegation zone.

Although Summerville is expected to return after the international break, no official return date has been set, which is a huge bonus for Spurs.
Tottenham are desperate for a winger like Summerville
West Ham are certainly reaping the rewards from his fine form as they aim to stay in the Premier League.
However, if they do fail to stay in the top flight, then Summerville’s future at the East London outfit would be in huge doubt.
If West Ham were to go down, Tottenham would survive, and they should be looking to sign Summerville in the summer transfer window.

Mathys Tel is their current starting left-winger, and while he has impressed in spells, four goal involvements in 35 appearances simply isn’t good enough.
His pass accuracy of 75.4 per cent is incredibly low in comparison to Summerville’s total of 83.8 per cent, which just shows the gulf in class between both players.
The Dutchman’s injury status at West Ham will not only affect Tottenham’s hopes of staying up, but it could have an impact on his future in the summer.
