‘We’re a laughing stock’ – Chelsea fans stunned by ’embarrassing’ transfer development
Chelsea fans cannot believe that their club is being linked with a January move for on-loan Nottingham Forest midfielder Douglas Luiz.
Luiz joined Forest in the summer window after he had struggled to make an impression at Juventus last season following a £43.5million move from Aston Villa.
Football Insider revealed ahead of this term that Luiz was wanted by Man United and Everton, but he instead made the move to the City Ground in August on a season-long loan.
He did not even feature under Nuno Espirito Santo before his dismissal, and has continued to struggle for minutes under Sean Dyche, with just 13 appearances and five Premier League starts so far this term.
Luiz was slammed by Forest fans last month as he gave a penalty away against Fulham, but he could now be on the move to Chelsea after a surprising new development.

Chelsea interested in loan move for Luiz in search of more experience
Luiz made his name as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League in his five years at Villa, as he racked up 204 appearances and helped kickstart their revival under Unai Emery.
His move to Juventus was meant to further his career on an even bigger stage, but he only featured 19 times in Serie A last term, and has since struggled at Forest despite his pedigree.
Despite his woes, The Athletic’s David Ornstein has revealed that Chelsea are considering move to sign Luiz on loan from Juve for the remainder of the season, with his Forest deal needing to be cancelled for any deal to go through.
He is reportedly viewed as a good fit for new Blues boss Liam Rosenior‘s midfield, adding quality and depth to his ranks as they challenge for silverware on numerous fronts over the next few months.
Chelsea fans fume at Luiz loan bombshell – ‘He is garbage’
Chelsea have identified a need to add more experience to their squad this month, with no players over the age of 28 currently available to Rosenior as it stands.
27-year-old Brazil international Luiz certainly has the quality to play for the Blues, but his current suitability can be questioned as he struggles to get into 17th-placed Forest’s starting eleven.
Many Chelsea fans have taken to X to react negatively to the reports, with one saying: “We are finished, he is garbage.”
Another said: “We have become a laughing stock in transfer windows” with two laughing emojis.
While one supporter questioned the link, asking: “(Signing) him just to remain on the bench…what’s the need?
