Barcelona are considering a move for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto instead of signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, according to reports.

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan last summer and has impressed this season with 10 goals and 13 assists so far.

Barcelona have the option to sign the 28-year-old for €30 million (£26.3m) at the end of the season as part of their loan agreement with United.

However, Mundo Deportivo reports that Rashford is ‘well-positioned’ to join Barcelona on a permanent basis but the Spanish champions are still considering alternatives.

The report claims that Neto is one of the attacking players on Barcelona’s radar after receiving ‘very positive technical reports’ from the club’s scouting department.

Across two campaigns for Chelsea, Neto has 19 goals and 15 assists in 93 appearances.

On Friday, Neto was handed a one-game ban in the Premier League and a £70,000 fine for his reaction to his red card in the 2-1 defeat away to Arsenal earlier this month.

The Portugal international is also facing a potential suspension in the Champions League after UEFA opened an investigation for his push on a ball boy in the 5-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
