Bayern Munich chief makes Harry Kane transfer admission and names asking price
Bayern Munich have no intention of letting Harry Kane go, but the German giants admit that a monumental offer could change things.
The England captain has been close to unstoppable since joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, scoring 133 goals in 136 games across all competitions.
This season is proving to be his best yet, scoring 31 times in just 26 Bundesliga outings and 48 goals in 40 games in total.
The 32-year-old remains under contract until the end of next season and does not look likely to leave this summer, as Bayern push for yet another Bundesliga title and are still going strong in the Champions League.
Honorary club president Uli Hoeness has spoken out about Kane’s future, sounding confident that the striker will still be a Bayern player next season.
However, he accepts that a Saudi Arabian club could produce an offer impossible to turn down, which is not out of the question seen as the Saudi Pro League have been linked with a move for Kane before.
‘He didn’t exercise his release clause, which means he’s definitely under contract here until summer 2027,’ Hoeness told Kicker.

‘What I’m hearing and feeling is that he and his family feel extremely comfortable here. You never know when a Saudi comes along and puts a lot of money on the table… But he feels very much at home.’
The 74-year-old offered a valuation of Kane, but doubted that his own number can be correct when compared to how much Liverpool paid Newcastle for Alexander Isak last summer.
‘I’d say Harry Kane is worth €150m (£130m). But then you see Alexander Isak cost €150m to Liverpool…if Isak is worth €150m, then Harry is worth €250m (£218m).’
The England captain is showing no sign of slowing down, despite turning 33 in July this year, and Hoeness has no doubts that he will continue to perform much deeper into his thirties.
‘Harry Kane can play at this level for at least another three or four years, because he’s a perfect professional who takes care of his body,’ he said. ‘He’s always at rehab and with the physios.’
Kane will return to the England side on Tuesday against Japan after missing the friendly with Uruguay on Friday night.
Former Three Lions forward Wayne Rooney is desperate for Kane to be fit and lead England’s chances at the World Cup this summer, but cannot see the Bayern superstar easing off for his club ahead of the huge international tournament.
‘I think such an important aspect for England is having Harry Kane fit and if he is, then he’ll be a major reason why we do win it if we do,’ Rooney told PA.
‘But if you go into any game and you’re not fully committed to that game because you’re thinking of something else then you potentially could get injured.
‘Any player will tell you that you’re playing for your club and when you’re playing for your club, that’s all that matters until that season is over then you go away with England then England take over.
‘I don’t think he’ll be slowing down. Hopefully Bayern Munich have the league won quite early and Vincent Kompany gives him a little bit of help!’
