Daniel Farke to be distraught over Liam Rosenior sack ahead of Chelsea vs Leeds United
Daniel Farke may not take the news of Liam Rosenior’s departure at Chelsea as well as many of the supporters at Leeds United.
The Whites are set to face the Blues in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, 26 April, in what will be the club’s first time back at this stage of the competition since 1987.
Farke’s side are unbeaten against their upcoming opposition during the 2025-26 campaign, taking on both Enzo Maresca and Rosenior in the Premier League, winning once and drawing the other.
Leeds will feel confident about beating Chelsea to reach the FA Cup final, having now gone unbeaten in six matches, but the latest news emerging from Stamford Bridge is likely to come as a blow.

Daniel Farke must learn new tactics ahead of Chelsea vs Leeds United
On two separate occasions, Farke has discovered the blueprints to a positive performance against the West London outfit this season, and both times he has been forced to work out two different managers.
He will now have to do the same again, with Under-21s head coach Calum McFarlane set to be in charge for the FA Cup clash at the weekend, a figure who has only taken two senior games for the Blues.
Against Maresca’s side, Jaka Bijol, Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were all on target, and in the most recent meeting, the Whites came from two goals behind to seal a draw at Stamford Bridge.

Rosenior’s side completely fell apart in the second half back in February, with the Leeds manager clearly discovering a weak spot and making adjustments in the final 30 minutes to earn a point on the road.
What changes could Calum McFarlane make in the FA Cup?
There is very limited information for Leeds to go off, with McFarlane only taking charge against Man City and Fulham back in January following Enzo Maresca’s departure from Stamford Bridge.
The performance against the Citizens was far brighter, securing a 1-1 draw, with their one goal coming from Enzo Fernandez, while Filip Jorgensen was trusted in between the sticks.
However, against the Cottagers, Liam Delap started over Joao Pedro, with Robert Sanchez being given the nod in goal, and they eventually fell to defeat thanks to Marc Cucurella’s sending off.
If Reece James is fit, it is entirely likely that we’d see the captain in the centre of midfield, rather than at full-back, with Trevoh Chalobah making up half of the centre-back partnership.
The rollercoaster just continues to run in West London, and while the majority of supporters are just going to stand and laugh, Farke will be disappointed about the late change ahead of the FA Cup game.
