Ex-PGMOL chief accuses Bournemouth star of cheating after incident in Leeds draw
David Brooks has been accused of diving by Keith Hackett in an attempt to win a penalty in Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw against Leeds United.
After a dull first-half, the match sprang to life after the break. With Bournemouth pushing for European football, there was a growing sense that they had to win the match in order to improve their chances.
As a result, they went all out to claim the three points, and had multiple penalty claims waved away.
Early in the second half, when the match was still 0-0, Brooks was certain that he should have won a penalty after going to ground in the box.
However, Hackett has insisted that instead the Wales international should have been booked for simulation in the late Leeds draw.

Keith Hackett: David Brooks dived vs Leeds United
Early in the second half, Bournemouth had a glorious chance to take the lead.
Marcus Tavernier whipped a beautiful ball into the Leeds box, and Brooks was looking to tap it into the net.

However, instead, he fell to the floor and claimed that Gabriel Gudmundsson had fouled him.
Yet, the referee and VAR disagreed, and Brooks’ protests fell in vain.
Upon reviewing the footage, Hackett was quick to agree that it wasn’t a penalty, but exclusively told Football Insider that he was disappointed the attacker was not booked for simulation.

He said: “This is an act of simulation from the Bournemouth player who is attempting to deceive the referee.
“Salisbury, tonight’s referee, was in a good position to judge and instantly made the correct call.
“The downside for me is that the Bournemouth player should have received a yellow card.”
Leeds continue to impress under Daniel Farke
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Leeds are now unlikely to sack Daniel Farke, and it is no wonder, considering the work he has overseen.
The draw has ensured that the Peacocks are another step closer to Premier League safety and have now hit the 40-point mark.
As a result, they are now nine points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in 18th-place, and are surely not all but safe from relegation.
For Farke, it has been a remarkable turnaround after previously being close to the sack in December.
Now, Leeds will look to continue their good form against managerless Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals on the weekend.
