Nedim Bajrami may have been given a lifeline at Rangers after a rough couple of years.

Rangers signed Bajrami from Serie B side Sassuolo in 2024, but the move has not really worked out thus far at Ibrox.

Bajrami opened up on his struggles for Rangers game time last year, and things haven’t improved a great deal since then.

Albania international Bajrami has been dogged by talk of a Rangers exit, but it seems Danny Rohl may not be giving up on the 26-year-old.

Injuries have limited his game time this season, but the attacking midfielder may yet get a chance to find his feet again at Rangers.

Rangers are willing to keep Nedim Bajrami for now

Bajrami has played 15 times for Rangers this season in all competitions, scoring two goals along the way.

The former Empoli man has been in the starting XI just three times this campaign, and after a month out with a muscle injury, he came off the bench in Rangers’ 3-0 win over Dundee on Sunday.

Rangers are still on the lookout for more signings, and one way to make that possible is by getting some players off the wage bill and raising transfer fees from their exits.

However, it seems that won’t be via Bajrami.

The Daily Record has reported in its print edition that the playmaker won’t be forced out at Ibrox before the winter window shuts on 2 February.

They add that he could be part of Rohl’s plans for at least the rest of the season, with another chance on the table for the playmaker before the summer.

Will Rangers be active in the winter transfer window?

Rangers sit four points off surprise Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts, but hold a two-point advantage over bitter rivals Celtic.

If Rohl wants to cap off a remarkable first season in charge at Ibrox, he may need more quality in the second half of the campaign.

Rangers appear to be closing in on signing Ryan Naderi, and conversely, Joe Rothwell’s short and unhappy stay at Ibrox could end soon.

Former boss Philippe Clement is keen to bring Rabbi Matondo to Norwich City on loan as he seeks to raid his old club.

Rangers reportedly rejected a £13million bid for Youssef Chermiti this month, and they also knocked back interest from Borussia Dortmund for Emmanuel Fernandez.

An intriguing last week of the winter transfer window is in store for the Bears, with plenty of changes still to come, it seems.
