'Dear me' - Ally McCoist can't believe what he saw in Rangers loss vs Hearts
Ally McCoist slammed Rangers for not defending a short corner well against Hearts in the William Hill Premiership on Sunday.
Danny Rohl suffered his first league defeat at Tynecastle Park on 21 December, with the hosts scoring two goals in the first half of the 2-1 victory.
Stuart Findlay found the back of the net in the 38th minute after a short-corner routine from the Jam Tarts.
Jack Butland was then beaten on his near post by Lawrence Shankland, and the Glaswegian outfit’s goalkeeper should’ve done better.

Rangers concede two avoidable goals vs Hearts
McCoist was baffled to see just Jayden Meghoma defending the short corner in the build-up to the first goal.
The two Hearts players easily bypassed the Gers’ left-back, with the whole sequence feeling a bit schoolboyish from the visitors.
While the Ibrox faithful were hopeful of challenging the Jam Tarts for the league title this season, the 2-1 loss has undoubtedly dealt a damaging blow to the Light Blues.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 22 December, McCoist said: “I didn’t think Hearts were brilliant yesterday. Rangers started the game reasonably well, and then two goals completely changed it. Two avoidable goals.”
The Gers icon added: “First goal, I mean, dear me, one man out for a short corner. I mean, what’s going on? One man out for a short corner, ball comes in, they get in the back, header and then the goalie has a brainstorm for the second goal.”
Rohl made some confusing decisions at Tynecastle Park, especially keeping Max Aarons on the pitch when it was clear things needed changing.
Danny Rohl to restart title charge at Ibrox after major relief
John Souttar has been out with an injury at Ibrox, but the centre-back is expected to return to action before the Old Firm Derby on 3 January.
Rangers played with James Tavernier, Dujon Sterling and Emmanuel Fernandez in the backline against Hearts, and the German manager can’t be solely blamed for losing in Edinburgh.
Team Matches played Points 1. Hearts 17 41 2. Celtic 18 35 3. Motherwell 17 30 4. Rangers 18 29
The Light Blues will soon have their first-choice partnership of Souttar and Derek Cornelius back, and the former Sheffield Wednesday boss will surely be confident of winning another unbeaten run.
With a 12-point gap between the Light Blues and Hearts indeed monumental, anything can happen in what’s been a crazy league season so far.
