Enzo Fernandez reacts as Chelsea deal terminated early, teammate sends message

Facundo Buonanotte’s loan move to Chelsea has been terminated early, with the midfielder now moving on loan to Leeds United.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder had only made one Premier League appearance for the Blues this season after signing on loan from Brighton.

As a result, the Argentine international has seen his spell at Stamford Bridge end early, with Buonanotte now joining Leeds United on loan until the end of the season.

The move has drawn plenty of reactions from his former teammates, including Enzo Fernandez and Marc Guiu.

Chelsea had actually beaten Leeds to the signing of Buonanotte in the summer, but it quickly became clear that he was not of the quality needed at the Blues.

Buonanotte had a poor Chelsea debut and was left out of their Champions League squad.

However, Daniel Farke has now gotten his wish and signed the attacking midfielder as Leeds look to boost their hopes of Premier League survival.

After the deal was announced, Buonanotte took to his Instagram on 15 January to express his excitement for the new challenge ahead.

As a result, Fernandez reacted to the post with a like, whereas Guiu commented: “Vamos mi tete,” which translates to “come on, mate,” in English which was followed by two red love heart emojis.

What has Buonanotte said about moving to Leeds United?

For Buonanotte, he will now be looking to get his career back on track after what has a poor first half of the campaign.

The Argentine international had previously shown plenty of promise at Leicester City last season, despite their eventual relegation from the Premier League.

Now, he will be looking to rekindle this form as Leeds aim to keep their heads above water this season.

Upon signing for the Peacocks, the Brighton loanee was quick to express how pleased he was to move to Elland Road.

“I am very happy to be here,” Buonanotte told LUTV on 15 January. “I really wanted to come to Leeds instead of anywhere else. The time was right for me to come here to Leeds.

“I played with Brighton a few seasons ago and I said to my family, to my teammates, Leeds is one of the best teams in the Premier League for sure.

“First, I want to help Leeds. I need to do a good job here. And then, of course, if I have a chance to go to the World Cup, obviously I want to go.

“I like to play on the line, score goals and play assists,” the creative midfielder added, describing his style of play. “I like to be between the lines and, of course, score.

“I want to show the fans my quality and how I can help the team stay in the Premier League. I am ready to play and I hope Saturday we can win.”

Asked what he expected from his first experience walking out at Elland Road, Facundo kept his answer simple: “I can’t wait for that moment!”
