Everton 3-0 Chelsea LIVE: Beto double piles the pressure on Liam Rosenior
Chelsea’s hopes of Champions League qualification took another significant dent following a 3-0 defeat at Everton.
Liam Rosenior’s side were hammered in midweek by PSG and were hoping to produce an instant response on their first visit to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Instead, they ran into an in-form Everton side who, themselves, are now eyeing up a top five finish.
The Toffees dominated the first half but had to wait until the 33rd minute to break the deadlock when Beto capitalised on James Garner’s superb pass and dinked the ball over Robert Sanchez.
Liam Rosenior made a change at the break but the introduction of Alejandro Garnacho failed to change the momentum of the game and it was little surprise when Beto doubled Everton’s lead just past the hour mark.
Iliman Ndiaye was a thorn in Chelsea’s side throughout and he got a deserved goal with 14 minutes remaining to put the cherry on the cake.
