Everton send scout to watch Ligue 2 revelation - report

Everton are closely monitoring Saint-Etienne right-back Kevin Pedro ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The Toffees have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old, who has been a revelation in Ligue 2 this season, according to Jeunesfooteux.

On 7 April, the news outlet reports that, amid heavy interest in the young defender, the French club will only consider an offer “completely excessive” for his sale at the end of the season.

Saint-Etienne have a clear priority to win promotion to Ligue 1 and will not part ways with the France Under-19 international before doing so.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see David Moyes move for someone like Pedro in the summer, given the Merseyside outfit clearly need to bolster their defence, especially the right-hand side.

Kevin Pedro season in numbers as Everton interest makes sense

The French defender has made 14 appearances for Les Verts in Ligue 2 this season, scoring two goals.

Pedro’s Ligue 2 record this season

With 87 per cent passing accuracy in the current campaign, it’s evident that the youngster is comfortable on the ball.

While Pedro isn’t the most attacking full-back, his defensive capabilities stand out, making 1.1 interceptions, two tackles, 4.4 clearances and recovering the ball 3.7 times per game, as per Sofascore.

The defender has also won 3.6 ground and 1.1 aerial duels on average, keeping a clean sheet six times.

David Moyes must address Hill Dickinson Stadium issue in the summer

Seamus Coleman’s future at Everton is uncertain, with the Republic of Ireland international’s current contract expiring at the end of the season.

At this stage of the veteran right-back’s career, it would make sense for him to retire and possibly become a part of Moyes’ backroom staff.

Vitalii Mykolenko will also be a free agent soon, leaving the Blues with a massive issue to address at full-back.

Jake O’Brien is consistently being played out of position, while Moyes seemingly doesn’t trust Nathan Patterson and Adam Aznou, and it remains to be seen what the Toffees do in the upcoming window.
