Everton table £21.2m total package to seal first January signing, bid accepted - report

Everton are progressing in their bid to sign Youssef En-Nesyri in January.

David Moyes is desperate for a new striker as the Toffees continue to push towards possible European qualification in the Premier League.

Everton tabled a loan bid for En-Nesyri on Thursday, with Fenerbahce accepting, but the Moroccan star still needs convincing over a move to England.

En-Nesyri is currently preparing for the African Cup of Nations final on Sunday, but transfer talk will quickly take over with more details now emerging.

Youssef En-Nesyri bid revealed from Turkey

Everton are currently struggling in the absence of key stars such as Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Beto and Thierno Barry continue to underwhelm, with En-Nesyri almost guaranteed to start should he move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

According to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Everton have bid £3.9million to sign the striker on an initial loan for the rest of the season.

That package also includes a £17.3m option to sign En-Nesyri permanently at the end of the season.

Despite an initial agreement being in place, the deal is far from close to completion, given the logistics surrounding the striker

Why may Youssef En-Nesyri say no to Everton?

Having been in Turkey for several seasons, it appears that the striker is too used to the weather.

En-Nesyri has supposedly said he wants to move somewhere that he can wear his sandals, and Merseyside in January and February doesn’t tick that box.

Moyes will want Angus Kinnear and his team to get a deal over the line, anyway possible, mainly with the financial backing of the Friedkin Group.

The Friedkins look to have held their end of the bargain with money on the table, but now it’s all about persuading En-Nesyri that this is the right move.

Beto could still leave Everton this month, but even before that, another striker is desperately needed to finally finish off those chances created by the likes of Jack Grealish.

Time will tell if this can happen, but as soon as AFCON finishes, expect Everton to really press ahead with En-Nesyri.
