Everton Women close in on one-time history maker ahead of window closing - report

Everton Women are hoping to further strengthen Brian Sorensen’s squad, with just hours of the WSL’s transfer window left.

The Toffees have been active in the transfer market this window, and want to add more depth in quality to their squad ahead of the WSL‘s 11pm deadline on Tuesday.

Kelly Gago could be let go by Sorensen after the French star confirmed her desire to leave the Toffees this window, as PSG have been credited with interest.

But a third incoming is expected after Everton Women already signed veteran Hannah Blundell from Manchester United, as well as youngster Laila Harbert from Arsenal.

Roma’s Zara Kramzar could be on her way to Merseyside, as Sorensen closes in on the player he’s sought after in recent days.

According to The Guardian, Everton Women are close to signing Kramzar from Roma on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Slovenian has already spent the first half of the season on loan with Como Women and has been performing well in the Serie A Femminile.

• Kramzar has scored three league goals in 10 matches this season
• She also has one assist to her name
• The Slovenian has netted seven times for her country in 20 games

Roma Women are prepared to cut short the winger’s stay with the Como to send her to Merseyside.

It’s not yet known if the deal contains a buy option, but the 20-year-old will come and push for a starting spot in Sorenson’s squad from the off.

Kramzar has already broken history in Italy

Kramzar can offer Sorensen a different outlet in attack, as the young forward can play across the forward line, including attacking midfield.

Everton Women have only scored 16 goals in 14 WSL matches this season, and the Roma talent can help Sorensen’s side finally become a threat in the final third.

As highlighted by Sofascore, the starlet averages an impressive rating of 7.16 for her performances in Italy this campaign.

They aren’t signing an unproven star either, as Kramzar became the first woman born in 2006 to play in Serie A. It’s how the old saying goes, ‘if you’re good enough, you’re old enough’.

Kramzar will have competition with Inma Gabarro for a starting spot at right-wing, and she could make her debut for the Blues as early as Sunday, when Everton Women face off against London City Lionesses.
