Ex-AVFC employee: Everton to make Jack Grealish announcement soon

Everton are still awaiting a full timescale on how long Jack Grealish will be out of action through injury.

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who is hoping for better news on Grealish once more details emerge.

Grealish is currently set to be out for three months due to a stress fracture in his foot, suffered during Everton’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa.

The 30-year-old is set for his first major injury blow at Everton since joining the club on loan from Man City, with David Moyes’ side wanting to turn the deal into a permanent move.

Everton wait on Jack Grealish verdict

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – is hopeful that three months out is a worst case scenario for Grealish.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the timescale of Grealish’s injury could be revealed soon.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Yeah, as you say, I know Jack, I know his father from my time at Villa. Obviously, I re-signed Jack on another contract at Villa when he was there.

“The one thing that we haven’t really had yet is the details. Everybody’s talking about three months out, but they still haven’t been able to do all the x-rays and the proper work yet until the swelling has gone down, which I think could well be today or tomorrow.

“So let’s just deal with the facts as we get them. Certainly, hopefully, it’s one of those where they put out the worst case and then come back with some better news once they get more details.”

Everton star continues to impress

Whilst Moyes will be left devastated by Grealish’s injury, the Everton boss will be delighted about the up-turn in form for striker Thierno Barry.

Everton are delighted with Barry’s progress at the club, with the 23-year-old having scored four goals in his last six appearances in all competitions.

Barry scored the winner at Aston Villa, and netted the equaliser against Leeds, and is proving his worth after a difficult start on Merseyside.
