Ex-Super Eagles striker faults NFF over unpaid ‘pension’ for retired Internationals

The Nigerian Football Federation have been accused of holding out on unpaid wages due to former Super Eagles players who've stepped away from the football scene, Soccernet.ng reports.

Victor Agali represented the Green and White eleven times, scoring five goals, but he's revealed a hidden truth with claims about FIFA paying ex-Internationals a form of pension, something the Nigerians haven't been able to relate to.

The former Schalke 04 striker believes ex-players aren't particularly treated well by the NFF, and didn't hold back in the review of the governing football body.

Victor Agali slams NFF over unpaid ‘pension' for retired Internationals

Speaking on the Home Turf Podcast, the one-time DFB Pokal winner revealed that retired Internationals are entitled to a stipend from FIFA, through the NFF, but they're yet to receive any.

“We talk about pension. Do you know there's money coming from FIFA to Nigeria for the ex-players. Are you aware?

“I've not gotten anything from them, I can't speak for others, but I know a reasonable number of people who haven't gotten anything, but I know the money is coming in,” the 47-year-old said.

“Nigerian football doesn't respect the ex-players, administratively.

“The money comes in annually. I don't know of Africa, but I know of some people in Europe who received money, but FIFA is FIFA.

“When I was in Europe, some of the ex-players were receiving the money, and we're still in touch till date,” the former OGC Nice striker concluded.
