Exclusive: Leeds plan to sell 22-yr-old, he's 'very interested' in Euro move
Leeds United are ready to allow forward Mateo Joseph to leave the club on a permanent basis this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old has spent the season out on loan in Spain with Mallorca, and he is understood to be “very interested” in the idea of a move to La Liga permanently.
Joseph’s current loan deal does not contain an option for Mallorca to buy him at the end of the season, but sources say that his parent club are ready to facilitate an exit, as he is not part of Daniel Farke’s long-term plans.
The Spanish youth international has notched two goals and three assists in La Liga this term, and he has already made it clear that he would like to take the next steps of his career there.
Leeds’ transfer plans for the summer are set to see them try to consolidate their spot in the Premier League once again, and Joseph doesn’t figure in their long-term thinking.

Leeds finally ready to give into Mateo Joseph demands
Joseph pushed for an exit from Elland Road throughout last summer’s window, but he only had his wishes granted on a temporary basis on that occasion.
Real Betis were consistently linked with a move for him, while Birmingham City and Wrexham also briefly showed an interest in him.

The youngster was prepared to go to extreme lengths to ensure he got the change of scenery that he desired, as he didn’t travel with the rest of the Leeds squad for their pre-season tour of Germany.
The West Yorkshire side were reluctant to lose him permanently as they felt he had a bright future ahead of him, but they are happy to give in this time around.
Joseph’s contract at Leeds is still set to run until the summer of 2028, but both parties are prepared to break that and go their separate ways ahead of next season.
The Whites have ambitions of establishing themselves as Premier League regulars once again in the coming years, and they are set to cast their player aspirations higher in order to achieve that.
Whites fighting to keep hold of key defender
Football Insider revealed on Wednesday that Leeds are fighting to keep hold of Pascal Struijk this summer, amid strong interest from Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle.
Farke and Co. are doing “everything in their power” to ensure that the Dutchman remains in their colours next term, and they are “confident” of that being the case if they can survive relegation.
However, suffer relegation to the Championship, and they are expected to be “susceptible” to any offers that come their way for Struijk, along with a number of their other key players.
Struijk is entering the final year of his contract at Elland Road, but Leeds are desperate to keep hold of him, as he has been crucial as part of the central defensive trio with Jaka Bijol and Joe Rodon.
Nevertheless, interest is building in the 26-year-old ahead of the window, and it may not prove straightforward for Leeds to knock it away.
