Expert backs Everton star to join Man City in summer after what he did in 3-3 draw yesterday

Iliman Ndiaye may have taken a step closer to a move to Man City after his performance for Everton during their Premier League clash.

The 26-year-old has been widely tipped for a move to the Etihad this summer and his performance at the Hill Dickinson Stadium will have done his chances no harm.

David Moyes’ side drew 3-3, despite being 3-1 up in the 81st minute, but put a huge dent in Man City’s title plans as they now sit five points behind Arsenal.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Ndiaye’s admirers will have been keeping a close eye on his performance against City.

Proving that he can perform against title-challengers as well as other Premier League side is another feather in his cap, as a move away from Everton could be on.

Could Man City make a move to sign Iliman Ndiaye?

Brown told Football Insider earlier this season that both Man City and Arsenal have been watching Ndiaye thanks to his impressive displays for Everton.

Tottenham and Man United have also been tipped to make a move, and after his display against City, there is a feeling he could make the step up.

While any interest in his signature has not yet become concrete, continued impressive displays could tempt clubs into making a big summer move.

“Ndiaye has done a brilliant job for Everton this season,” Brown told Football Insider.

“He’s really put a marker down, proved his worth, and proved a lot of people wrong, including me, who had questions about his level.

“Everton are in contention for a European place and a big part of that is down to what he’s brought to the side to help them push up the table.

“Man City are planning for big changes this summer, there could be a few players on their way out which opens the door for somebody else to come in.

“Ndiaye putting in a strong performance like that against the title-challengers will do him no harm.

“Interested clubs are always looking at players like him to see whether they can do it against the biggest clubs or if he only performs against lower sides.

“So they will have been impressed by what they’ve seen from him, and if some players in his position are moved on at City or somewhere else, he could make a big move.”

How do Everton feel about selling Ndiaye?

Despite growing interest from Man City and a number of their Premier League rivals, there have been no suggestions that Everton are prepared to let Ndiaye leave.

The Senegal international has established himself as a crucial part of Moyes’ plans, and losing him would be seen as a major blow after what has been a strong season.

Football Insider revealed in March that Everton will not entertain offers for Ndiaye and plan to block his potential exit despite the interest in his signature.

Moyes views him as a crucial part of his ambitious plans for the future, with a European place still up for grabs with three league games left to play.

The attacking midfielder is said to be happy with the Toffees at the moment, although a strong World Cup campaign could see clubs step up their interest.
