Insider: Man United make Amad Diallo transfer plan amid new 'concern'

Amad Diallo has been tipped to leave Manchester United at the end of the season amid doubts about his recent performances and long-term role in the side.

A mistake against Liverpool allowed the visitors back into the game and saw United blow a two-goal lead despite ultimately bouncing back to win 3-2 late on.

The Ivory Coast international has been rotated in and out of the side under Carrick, and has struggled to convince the boss he should be part of the starting XI.

However, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the club have no plans to sell Amad and he remains part of their plans for the future.

Carrick is believed to be a strong admirer of the winger, and while his displays have been a concern, he is unlikely to leave as part of Man United’s transfer plans.

What is Man United’s stance on selling Amad Diallo?

Football Insider revealed in March that Amad is not looking to leave Man United, and the club have no plans to move him on, despite questions about his role.

Bryan Mbeumo is seen as the first choice in his position which could see the 23-year-old struggle for regular minutes going into next season.

However, his role as a capable deputy to the Cameroon international makes him an important part of the squad, while he can also fill in elsewhere.

“Amad has been frustrating in his last few games for Man United,” Brown told Football Insider.

“These last two games he’s played, he’s contributed very little to the side, and then he made that mistake against Liverpool so that will be a concern for Carrick.

“He’s not scoring goals and he’s not assisting them at the moment, so that will be a concern, and he’s been in and out of the side a little bit.

“But by all accounts, Man United are happy with him and happy with how he has progressed.

“There are no plans at the moment to let him go, he still plays a big role in the squad and he’s a valuable player to have around because he is very talented.

“A bit of a dip in form and a poor spell on the pitch doesn’t make him a bad player, and Man United are very aware of that fact.”

Could Man United sign a replacement for Amad?

Further speculation about Amad’s future has come as a result of Man United stepping up plans to improve their squad in the summer.

Carrick has been upfront about the club’s plans to sign a new winger after he confessed during the Janaury transfer window that the position could be a priority.

However, Football Insider revealed that Amad will not be replaced by Man United despite their transfer plans, as they have high hopes for his future.

As they continue to progress toward the signing of a new winger, the Red Devils are prioritising the left-hand side, and any deal is unlikely to impact Amad.

Instead, he will continue to rival Mbeumo for first-team minutes and will remain in his role as a capable rotation option should Carrick wish to make changes.
