Frank Onyeka’s key attribute lauded as Coventry eye title lift against Blackburn Rovers

Super Eagles and Coventry City midfielder Frank Onyeka is set for a Premier League return just five months after joining the Sky Blue Stars from Brentford, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nicknamed ‘Frank the Tank', Onyeka has featured in 11 league games for Frank Lampard's side, and eight of those have ended in victories, prompting praise from his teammate and English midfielder Jack Rudoni.

Coventry City are currently ten points clear at the top of the EFL Championship, with four league games left to play, and a victory against Blackburn Rovers will send them to the Premier League.

Coventry: Jack Rudoni lauds Frank Onyeka's strength

The former Midtjylland midfielder has formed a strong relationship with Rudoni since making the switch from the Gtech Community Stadium back in January.

They've been seen making jokes when giving the man of the match or player of the week awards, alongside their hilarious post-match interview sessions.

However, outside of their relationship, the 24-year-old Englishman revealed Onyeka's importance to Coventry's midfield.

“Tank's [Onyeka], is like my new best mate. I love him, we have so much quality on the pitch,” Rudoni said in the presser ahead of the game against Blackburn Rovers.

“I've been in there with Tank and Grimesy in midfield, we have a good relationship. I can always stand in the pocket, and wait for Frank to demolish someone and give me the ball.

“It makes my life easy playing with him. He's such a physical presence and he's so good at winning the ball back and upping the tempo in a press, winning the ball as quick as possible.

“He's a top player, played several Premier League games, and that experience shows. Off the pitch, he's a chill guy as well,” the ex-Huddersfield man concluded.

Onyeka will sign for Coventry City permanently when they seal promotion to the English Premier League.
