Georgia Stanway sends seven-word message as West Ham Women confirm signing
West Ham Women have confirmed the signing of Tuva Hansen from Bayern Munich.
The 28-year-old centre-back has become the Hammers’ fourth signing of the winter transfer window as they look to pull away from the relegation playoff zone.
Previously, the Irons had brought in players such as Estelle Cascarino, as Rita Guarino continues her bright start as manager at the East London club.
Now, Hansen has joined the fold, with England star Georgia Stanway one of the players to react to the news.

Hansen had been at Bayern Munich since 2023 where she helped the German giants win three consecutive Frauen-Bundesliga titles as well as one DFB-Pokal Frauen and one DFB-Supercup Frauen.
Here, she played with multiple world-class stars, including Stanway.
The England international has recently expressed her intention to leave Bayern at the end of the season when her contract expires, but has yet to confirm her next destination.
Nevertheless, she has clearly developed a bond with her former teammate Hansen.
Therefore, when West Ham announced on their Instagram on 28 January that the Norway international had joined the Hammers, Stanway was quick to react.
Commenting on the post, she put: “You’ve got a very very good one.”
What has Hansen said about joining West Ham?
For West Ham, the signing can be considered a bit of a coup.
Like the men’s side, West Ham are fighting against relegation, and are only one point about the relegation playoff zone.
For most of this season, their backline has been letting them down, having conceded 30 goals in 13 matches to date, by far the most in the division.
This was on show in Guarino’s first match in charge, as they lost 5-0 to Chelsea earlier this month.

Now, with Hansen joining the club with an incredible CV, there will be hope that this issue finally comes to an end going into the second half of the season.
Unsurprisingly, Hansen is extremely excited to join West Ham and the WSL1.
The defender hopes that her experience and winning mentality can have a big impact at the Hammers going forward as they look to turn their season around.
She told West Ham on 28 January: “I’m really happy to be joining West Ham United.
“It feels like a dream come true. I’m a natural leader. I want to bring my experience and winning mentality to help the team as much as possible.
“The WSL has grown a lot over the last couple of years so I’m excited by the challenge and to test myself against the best teams in the world.
“I’ve heard a lot about how special West Ham is – it’s a big Club with a rich history, and I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my career.”
