Hull City head coach issues Semi Ajayi verdict ahead of March International break
Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic has aired his displeasure about Semi Ajayi jetting out for the March International break amidst his injury struggles, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles defender struggled with hamstring problems last year, suffering the injury four times between West Bromwich Albion and Hull City.
The most recent came in Nigeria's third-place game against Egypt at the AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco.
While he's only just returned to the Hull City setup, their coach isn't pleased about losing one of the experienced leaders in the team so soon.

Hull City coach worried about Semi Ajayi
The former Arsenal defender has only played two 90-minute games since January, and while a break is good, Hull's ambition for a Premier League place means losing any player to injuries could prove costly
“It's good we have a two-week break,” Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside.
“(But) We have eight international players, and I hope they get some minutes, but it's more important they stay healthy.

“We may have some problems when they return from the international games – Ivor Pandur (Croatia) is in South America, Semi Ajayi (Nigeria ) is in Jordan, and Liam Miller is with Canada in Toronto, so that could be a problem but we will see when they come back,” the Bosnian coach added.
“I understand the World Cup is coming, and the players want to be on their list, and it is a big dream for them. We are proud of our international players,” the Old Tigers coach concluded.

Hull City are currently 5th on the EFL Championship table, and will want to avoid dropping points as they look to secure a play-off spot in their dreams of returning to the English Premier League.
