“I would prefer…”: Tottenham dealt fresh blow after clear statement from key target
Adi Hutter has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur.
The London club is looking to bring in a new manager after parting ways with Igor Tudor. It appears that the 56-year-old Austrian manager is on their radar. However, Hutter has now confirmed that he is not looking to return to management until the end of the season. He was relieved of his duties by AS Monaco earlier this season.
The Austrian is an experienced manager who has done reasonably well across multiple leagues. He could be an interesting option for Tottenham. They have also been linked with Roberto De Zerbi. The Italian is currently unemployed, and he would be an excellent addition.
The comments from Hutter more or less rule out any potential move to Tottenham for now. The London club is unlikely to wait for him until the end of the season, and they are set to move on to the target.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Hutter said, “In recent days and weeks, I have been increasingly linked with various clubs.
“However, as I already stated immediately after my time at Monaco, I would prefer not to work as a head coach again until the start of the new season at the earliest.
“My position on that matter has not changed since then.”
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can bring in a quality manager who will help them secure safety in the Premier League and bounce back strongly next season. They have quality players at their disposal, and they need someone who can get the best out of them.
The opportunity to manage in the Premier League can be quite exciting, but Hutter is content with a break for now.
