Ibrox View: Rangers star set to suffer immense disappointment all thanks to team-mate
Rangers ace Jayden Meghoma’s Ibrox career has gone from promising to disappointing.
Having joined on a season-long loan deal from Brentford, the 19-year-old has provided six assists in 40 games this season.
Meghoma’s move to Rangers was initially scrutinised, yet he turned out to be one of the more impressive summer signings during the first half of the season.
However, despite being the first-choice left-back at the start of Danny Rohl’s spell in charge, the arrival of Tuur Rommens has completely disrupted his development at Ibrox.
And with Rangers fighting for the Scottish Premiership title, it’s likely Rohl won’t use him much at all for the rest of the season.

Jayden Meghoma might not start another game this season
Rohl clearly values the Rommens’ attacking prowess, and he has already shown his ability to cause some real problems out wide.
However, it’s his defensive qualities that have made him stand out, with Meghoma facing criticism throughout the season for his deficiencies in the air.
According to Sofascore, Meghoma has only won 20 per cent of his aerial duels, which is frankly not great.
Stat Meghoma Appearances 25 Ground duels won 48.6% Aerial duels won 20% Tackles 38 Interceptions 15 Blocked shots 3
The English defender hasn’t started any of the last six games, playing just 36 minutes of football in that time.
The Bears have only seven matches left this campaign, and it seems he will hardly play again as Rommens has stepped up his level in recent weeks.
This would be a huge shame for Meghoma, who was incredibly reliable in the first half of the campaign, but now he’ll return to Brentford disappointed with the lack of minutes under Rohl.

However, no Rangers fan will argue with the decision, given Rommens’ emergence at Ibrox.
What makes Tuur Rommens so special for Rangers?
Rommens joined the Light Blues from Belgian outfit Westerlo for £2.6million in January, with another £500,000 due in performance-related add-ons.
He is steadier on the ball than Meghoma and has an attacking edge to his game, as well as being able to do the defensive side of things.
Having scored the winner against St Mirren earlier in March, Rommens has made a vital impact at Ibrox, as shown by the Sofascore statistics below.

It’s resulted in the worst-case scenario for Meghoma, who perhaps deserves more faith from his manager.
Unfortunately, Rommens will have to start every game from now on, as the stakes continue to increase in the Scottish Premiership.
