Jack Grealish sends two-word message to Everton-linked player ahead of summer transfer

Jack Grealish has shown John Stones support, whose Manchester City exit was confirmed this Tuesday, ahead of a possible transfer move to Everton.

Stones will be departing the Etihad Stadium this summer after over 10 years of service to the Citizens since joining from Everton back in August of 2016.

He will be a free agent this summer and has been linked with a return to the Toffees, who would also like to sign Grealish permanently from Man City.

David Moyes will want new signings this summer, regardless of whether Everton find themselves in a European competition or not.

While the Friedkin Group will need to discuss a transfer fee for Grealish, that will not be the case for Stones, who may want to play for the Blues once more.

What has Jack Grealish said to Everton-linked John Stones?

Everton have been tipped for a double swoop with Stones and Grealish, with both players still able to hold their own in the Premier League, despite being past their best.

The Toffees are currently hoping that their star loanee remains at Hill Dickinson Stadium for another year at the very least, and talks over him permanently signing are reportedly underway.

Jack Grealish in PL for Everton

Stones made an Instagram post this Tuesday, leaving a nice note to City fans, who he will only have the opportunity to play in front of a couple of times more.

Everton star Grealish simply commented two words underneath the post.

The Englishman said: “The Goat.”

It’s not known where Stones will end up yet, but a host of Premier League clubs are said to be interested, as well as teams from across Europe.

Either way, he will almost certainly not find it hard to land himself a new club this summer.

Is Stones’ fitness a worry?

One main concern over Stones is his fitness issues. The 31-year-old has had multiple injury problems in the last couple of seasons, and it has prevented him from playing under Pep Guardiola.

The Manchester City boss is a huge fan of the centre-back, but it now seems like it’s best for all parties for him to move on.

However, even though Stones’ injury history worries, the fact that Everton could sign a proven winner for nothing this summer may be worth what would be a low-risk signing.

Wages will be a factor too, but given Man City thought Grealish was done, the same turnaround at Everton could be seen with Stones.
